A simple rosebud shot on a misty morning in my mother's garden on one of my early trips home. Probably taken with a Canon FT and a 50mm macro lens although it is impossible to know for sure at this late date.

Shot near Anchorage. If this doesn't give you at least a little bit of a chill then I didn't do my job. Probably shot with a Canon F1.

An picture from the early 70s taken on a trip to Mono Lake in California from Sunnyvale where I was living at the time. As luck, at least my luck, would have it the whole trip was threatened by rain in an area that is almost always dry.

Near Valdez, Alaska, not far from the oil terminal where the tankers carrying North Slope crude depart is this huge rookery of Blackfooted Kittiwakes. The birds are totally fearless and will allow you to bring your boat right up to the cliff. This is a doubly bad idea since they will occasionally swoop at your head. And placing yourself below this many large birds is foolish. Think of what one bird can do to your car right after you wash it...
