White Oak Sofa/Console Table

This table was made to show off some oversized white oak that I obtained for an extremely low cost at an auction. You might call it a gloat project. Actually the board that was used for the top was the narrowest of the batch from the auction, being only 15-inches wide. The finish is boiled linseed oil and satin polyuretane. The design is very austere with the only ornamentation being a simple bead detail on the aprons. Overall size in inches: 69X15X19

I am still not a fan of oak as a furniture wood although finding myself owning a large quantity of it in widths up to and over 18-inches means that I will inevitably find some use for all of it.
